TYLER RIVERA STEIN is a composer and vocalist based in Los Angeles. Through his company Hire Score Media he has composed original musical scores for stage and screen. Some of his credits include the 2018 regional Emmy-award winning short film Deviant, feature film Surrender Dorothy available on Amazon Prime, and the Crypt TV web series Research. Most recently he's scored a full 16-piece a cappella choir for the dark comedy film I'm Dead, You're Welcome which won the 2024 award for Best Comedy at the Flagstaff International Film Festival.

His early passions for musical theater led him to complete his degree in vocal performance from NYU Steinhardt, and he subsequently received his AEA membership performing in national tours and off-Broadway. His musical theater works and collaborations with members of NYU and BMI’s musical theater writing workshops have been performed at the Feinstein’s 54 Below, Triad Theater, the Libra Theater Company, and many others.

In neighboring New Jersey, he composed original musical hooks for the hip hop label, King’s Vision Entertainment and subsequently began writing arrangements for rock ensemble. Garnering attention in the tristate area (NY, NJ, PA) and on the West Coast underground hip-hop scene, Tyler relocated to Los Angeles to write music in the film and TV industries. His most recent musical album PROMISING CHILD combines elements of classical and alternative rock, jazz, funk, rhythm and blues, musical theater, soul and hip-hop genres in an homage to the 1970s big band sound of Chicago and the soft rock textures of Fleetwood Mac.

In addition to composition, Tyler is a certificated music educator for piano and voice. He has served on the boards of Los Angeles non-profits Musicians at Play and Arts for LA to fundraise for low-income music programs around greater Los Angeles.
